Git-R-Done
A "Wireside Chat" from Chairman Adam Puharic
9/25/2006
One hundred 4X4 signs. Over 500 lawn signs. When Monmouth County woke up on Saturday, September 23rd, they were greeted by a show of strength in support of our great candidates Rosemarie Peters, Andrew Lucas, and Freeholder Anna Little. This support was made possible by the ten (that’s right only 10) hardest working Republicans. I don’t want to tell you how late they worked. I don’t want to tell you how many signs they lifted. I don’t want to tell you how many signs were installed by hand when the power augers failed.
I do want to tell you that when we win this November, please remember it was on their backs we were carried. I bought some baseball caps for them, with the words, “Git-R-Done” on them. To me, it talked about their spirit. We were left as a party without the institutional memory, or the sign locations, or the manpower to carry on a grand county tradition of strong sign presence. Git-R-Done. We were all new (except for the wise Allen Hodgson) and unsure of what to do. Git-R-Done. None of our sign crew is bucking for a title, or position within this party. Git-R-Done.
When we win -- and Rosemarie, Andrew, and Anna will win -- please take a moment to thank:
John Cantalupo
Allen Hodgson
Rich Weiner
Michael Skudera
Jerry DelTufo
Anonymous friend from a shore town in southern monmouth
Mr. Lucas (Andrew’s dad)
Michael Supko
Bill Palat
Brett Palat
P.S. When you see them at tomorrow’s candidate fundraiser event at Branches, please remember to thank them. Yes, I know there is a crooked sign on 537. And yes, there’s one that blew down in Red Bank. But don’t criticize them first. Thank them. We’ll fix the downed signs. You can never fix a missed opportunity to say thank you.
