Freehold, NJ – Monmouth County Republican candidate for Freeholder Andrew Lucas today issued the following statement on last night’s Democrat nomination of J. Gregory Gibadlo for Freeholder:
“I commend Mr. Gibadlo on his recent nomination and look forward to hearing more about his vision for Monmouth County.
Recently, Mr. Gibadlo said he wanted to run our county like a business. Just last year Governor Corzine, a former Wall Street tycoon, said he wanted to run New Jersey like a business. What did Monmouth County get in return? We received a cut in municipal and school aid, an increase in the sales tax and skyrocketing property taxes.
If this is how Mr. Gibadlo wants to run Monmouth County, we cannot afford him.
Monmouth County is the best in the business when it comes to providing services to our residents. Our financial health is second to none. That’s why we’re one of just a handful of counties in the country to receive a triple A bond rating from the top three rating agencies. That rating only comes from proper fiscal management.
Before entering the race for county Freeholder, I carefully considered the responsibilities of the job and the leadership the people of this great county deserve. My running mates and I are committed to building upon our successes and moving this county in the right direction.”
